We were proud to land the video marketing duties for a sponsors promotion by English Premiership football club Newcastle United FC.
The video focused on the clubs relationship with its Far Eastern fans and they developed an idea to get the players to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. Shot across one chilly winters day at the clubs training ground the video featured some of their top players and then manager, Alan Pardew.
Once approved, the video was uploaded to the clubs website, their sponsors website and respective You Tube channels. Time an imperative, we had a one week window to drive the video marketing campaign forward and up the profile of the video and fan engagement.
We chose to go with a influencer based strategy. By getting all of the team / names involved, we drove in over 50,000 You Tube views in the first week across the three video locations and on social media, captured multiple likes, subscriptions and comments.
The campaign was then relocated to add local brand awareness on mainland China. The videos were posted on popular video sites Youku and Tudou. These videos were then shared and promoted across the hugely popular Chinese social media sites We Chat and Weibo with further display ad campaigns run across a number of selected influence sites.
